January 3, 2025

I woke up crying this morning, and I am not sure why. I want to visit my mother today. She is in a nursing home now with dementia. I have not been able to see her for a number of reasons. I also have to clean out her things, but I feel stuck, like my body and mind are against me.

I am not sure what to say. I am sad. I know others are struggling worse than I am right now. I should count my blessings. So I will:

  • I have some really close friends that care.
  • I get to spend time with Miley.
  • Our 4 remaining kids are ok.
  • I have Tim.
  • Our new goal is to pray together each night.
  • My in-laws are ok.

See ya tomorrow.

Day 2

It is the 2nd day of the year. I made it a goal to write something daily. Today, Sandy came to see me since she had the day off. Very nice. I miss my friends so much and wish we could get together more often. Do not take anyone in your life for granted if you want them to be there. I often struggle to get anywhere on most days, and I feel guilty, even though I cannot control the situation.

Don’t you just hate it when you can do nothing to control your own environment? When you have one vehicle that your husband uses for work and you have a disability where you rely on people to help you all the time getting anywhere is hard. This is not a pity me moment, just curious if anyone else finds themselves in this situation.

More later. Time for dinner!

About Us

About Us

Tim and Jaclyn have been friends since 1999. In 2011 Tim asked Jaclyn out to dinner. If you ask her, she will tell you she was totally undecided. He says he would not take no for an answer. She caved in and went, but he was unfamiliar with the area and ended up being 3 hours late! Luckily, for him, she stayed. LOL. Both Tim and Jaclyn have disabilities and have been advocating for the disability community practically for as long as either of them can remember.

So you may be wondering why Believe and Achieve? We have the desire to help as many people as possible, not only those with disabilities. We want to provide others with products, advice, and more that we love and fulfill our mission.

More to come!

Who are we?

Happy New Year!

For those who do not know us we thought it would be best to kick off 2019 by giving everyone a little information of who we are and why we are here.

We both have Cerebral Palsy and have been advocates for people with disabilities for over 20 years. We met in 1999 and were friends for a long time. Over the years we remained friends but it was type of friendship that people have when they send well wishes throughout the years. Fast forward to 2011 when Tim called and started to have long conversations with Jaclyn. Over time he convinced her to go to dinner. Even though Tim was 3 hours late to dinner but Jaclyn just felt that it was worth the wait. In 2014 we got married and started to look towards our future.

We both have jobs but we both have the strong desire to help others. We do this in a variety of ways. We serve on boards within our community, we sell beauty products and have a leadership business helping others grow and be debt free. We both have a strong faith and really believe that with God’s help we can bring all of the facets of our lives together to help others and ourselves live our best lives.

We will elaborate in the days to come. Please comment on our posts so we know how best to help you and grow communities while building social capital.

Keeping it real

Hey all!

When we decided to make all of this public and had many conversations about it one thing kept emerging – what do we say? How much? While we may not know all the answers we do know this – whatever we say we will keep it real. While we want to uplift others and share what we have learned, we will not sugar coat it.

You will hear the good, the bad, and the ugly. We do have challenges. We will be brutally honest. So hold on to your hats and welcome to this journey of our lives.

If you believe, you will achieve,

Why now? Why this?

Good Sunday all!

Some of our friends may be wondering what the heck is Believe and Achieve Consulting and why do they want to do this page and blog. We chose to do this for a few reasons.

First, (and this may sound corny to some and that is ok) we want to help others to live their best life. People spend a lot of time judging others and putting them down. We want to help lift others up.

We also wanted a place where we can give people insights to what we are learning. We want to pass on what we have discovered.

Next, we want this to be a place to foster community. We are involved in a lot of great work in PA and this is our place to share all the great things that are happening.

As the days go on you will see more, but if you have any questions, just ask.

If you believe you can achieve,

Timothy and Jaclyn
